Overview
Kenya is a land of dramatic contrasts, where golden savannahs meet emerald lakes and snow-capped peaks. If you are looking for the quintessential East African adventure, our 6-Day Classic Kenya Safari is designed to take you from the bustling plains of the Masai Mara to the serene shores of Lake Naivasha and the majestic foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli.
We begin our journey driving through the Great Rift Valley, with a breathtaking stop at the viewpoint to gaze over the escarpments. Arriving in the Masai Mara National Reserve by afternoon, we head straight into your first game drive. Keep your cameras ready for the Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos—roaming the vast plains. Overnight: Masai Mara Lodge/Camp
Spend a full day immersed in the Mara. We track the great herds of wildebeest and zebra, and watch for the predators that stalk them. With an expert guide, you will venture into the deepest corners of the reserve, enjoying a picnic lunch in the shade of an acacia tree. Overnight: Masai Mara Lodge/Camp.
We begin the morning with a meaningful cultural visit to a traditional Masai Village (Manyatta). Engage with the local community, learn about their nomadic lifestyle, witness traditional dances, and get a look inside their handcrafted homes. After lunch, we depart the Mara and head north toward the scenic city of Nakuru, passing through lush farmlands. Overnight: Lake Nakuru area hotel.
After a brief morning view of Lake Nakuru, we journey to Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, you will take a boat safari to Crescent Island. This is a unique walking safari where you can hike alongside giraffes, zebras, and waterbucks in a predator-free environment. Spend the evening enjoying the rhythmic sounds of the hippos near the lake shore. Overnight: Lake Naivasha Lodge/Resort.
Today, we head south toward Amboseli National Park, famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. As you enter the park, you will be greeted by the iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the background. The afternoon game drive will focus on the wetlands, which attract a massive variety of birdlife and large elephant herds. Overnight: Amboseli Lodge/Camp.
Enjoy a final early morning game drive to catch the sunrise over Kilimanjaro, capturing the glowing light hitting the mountain peaks. After a hearty breakfast, we begin the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the city by late afternoon for your onward travel arrangements.
